Oxford MA Silsby Engine 767

5Th. size 1884

Just discovered, this beautiful old engine now completes the list of Silsby engines sold to towns called Oxford, of which where were three, and with the discovery of this one, all survive today. The community that once owned this fine old engine is again in possession and the owner.

As they research the history of the engine, that history and more photos will be added. At present, enjoy the three photos shown below. The first must have been taken shortly after the engine was purchased, or perhaps during the initial test pumping, as it certainly looks new. The second in the early 1900's at a Fair Ground, and the final one in the museum where it has been tucked away until now.
