The water boiled and the steam pressure rose to operating levels as hundreds watched. Finally the safety opened, but still the steamer would not run. It was somewhat of a disappointing day for all. We later discovered that different thickness gaskets under the pump and the Steam engine caused an alignment problem that made the pump bind. Once this was corrected the engine ran perfectly, but on another day.
