The operational segment of the Honesdale Fire Department includes an active and well trained Fire Police organization. The organization which supports both the Honesdale Fire Department and the Honesdale Borough Police on special occasions, consists of a Captain, three Lieutenants, and a number of regular officers. The fire police come from the four companies, and are nominated by each company as per the rules of that company, and approved by the Mayor of Honesdale.

The present captain is Chris Seitz of Protection Engine Co. No. 3
