Earliest known photo of Steamer 483

Believed to have been taken on Church Street c.1875 shows the steamer with firemen and six horses. A close-up of the steamer from this photo shows considerable detail in the decorative gilding on the engine. This is the only photo where the original decorations were apparent. The uniforms worn by the firemen were similar to those used with the steamer today. None of these uniforms are known to exist today.
